Welcome to Art Class
Today you will have your first art assignment. This assignment may be challenging but don’t worry it’s not graded! This assignment is for me to gain an understanding of what you know about art and how you apply the techniques. Please do the best that you can and do not compare your work to others. We are all on different levels and it is my job to create an artist out of each of you.
Materials: pencils, paper, erasers, rulers (provided in basket on table)
Objective: Students will do each drawing the best that they can with the materials provided to show their knowledge of art and its techniques.
Procedure:
For each drawing you must fill the space. Do not draw tiny and in the middle of the paper. Thank you.

Materials: pencils, paper, erasers, rulers (provided in basket on table)
Objective: Students will do each drawing the best that they can with the materials provided to show their knowledge of art and its techniques.
Procedure:
- Use a full page in your sketchbook for each drawing. If you do not have your sketchbook yet then use paper that is at least 8x10.
- Put your name on the front bottom right corner.
For each drawing you must fill the space. Do not draw tiny and in the middle of the paper. Thank you.
- On the front page write “Pair of Shoes with Laces”. You will draw a pair of shoes with as much detail as you can.
- On inside front write “Portrait”. Draw a portrait of yourself or a friend. Show a range of value changes in face.
- On inside right side write “Street Scene”. Draw a street with 3 buildings on each side in 1 pt. perspective. Add windows and doors to buildings. Add as much detail as you can. Use a ruler.
- On back side write “Hand”. Draw your own hand and add value (shading) to make it look realistic. Try to draw it life-size and with right proportions. Don’t forget to add all the lines in your skin!
