Fairy Tale/Fable:
Procedure:
- Research fairy tales
- Brainstorm 20 ideas of Fairy Tales/Fables
- Choose 2 fairy tales that interest you.
- Write a summary of your 2 choices and list the main characters
- List the scenes in each Tale/Fable that interest you.
- Develop a 3 compositional sketches for each choice. Your ideas and sketches MUST be ORIGINAL. They will resemble the original but your illustration of scene is all your idea. You must have at least 5 printed references for each. Example; if you are drawing people you should have images of real people if you are drawing nature, trees, animals, etc you must have real images of these.
- Do not change the whole idea behind the story in your sketches
- Choose the best idea and create a final sketch
- In the final sketch practice different pen and ink techniques and plan where you will use them.
- Use the words to help you illustrate your drawing.
- Do not copy pictures from illustrated tale directly. Change hair, clothes, environments, etc. as you envision them based on story words.
- Be able to justify decisions in a critique.

Procedure:
- Brainstorm 20 ideas that have repeated objects that are in perspective. These ideas should be written with a description of idea. Not just one or two words.
- Discuss ideas with teacher and decide on best 5. Revise them if needed.
- Choose 2 best ideas of scenes with items repeating in perspective
- Find references for each idea. You will need at least 5 for each idea. That means 10 in total!
- Draw 3 compositional sketches for each idea that shows the scene and how you will repeat the object.
- Choose the best idea and draw a final sketch
- On final sketch practice different pen and ink techniques to decide how you will create the final drawing. Plan for use of perspective and repeated images.
- Draw final lightly on good paper
- Complete finished piece with pen
