Drawing Final Exam

The first thing you will do is...........

Create a new page on your portfolio in Weebly. Here is how.
1. Add new page and make sure you select STANDARD page NOT blog.
2. When you create your new page title it “Drawing Final Exam”
3. After you create your page refresh site and make sure your page is visible. If I can’t see the page then I can’t grade the exam!!!

For the following questions Choose 1 or 2 pieces of artwork created this semester that reflects the question. You must answer each question using 8 – 10 sentences and Art vocabulary. Your answers must justify your opinions and statements.
Exam Questions

Required Question (this will have more than 10 sentences):
  1. Choose a project that you felt was challenging but yet successful. The project should incorporate innovative solutions to the artistic problem given to you. By this I mean how creative, original, mature, innovative were your ideas to develop into the successful piece that answers all the requirements for the project and beyond. We have had many projects that have explored this creative way of brainstorming, sketching, planning compositions and ending with final product. In our “Look at that View” perspective project you had to draw something original from an interesting point of view. You also had to utilize many graphite application techniques, shading, line, lighting, textures, etc. Other projects were Opacity/Transparency, Scratchboard showing texture, movement and contrast, Self-portraits, plus others. When you have chosen the project you feel best fits this question take pictures of all your brainstorming ideas, sketches (development stages) from your sketchbook that led up to final decision and product and post them with this response. Discuss how you generated innovative/original/creative ideas for the project and how you developed them to complete your final piece.  How did you think outside the box and challenge yourself as well as the restraints of the project.

Choose 4 of the Questions Below to Answer:
  1. How do you describe your artistic style/perspective? How do you define success as an artist? What do you find most rewarding about being an artist? What are some of the most important skills you draw upon to create your work? What are some of the most significant things you've learned through art-making? DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
  2. Look at your body of work over the semester and choose 2 pieces that show your growth as an artist. Discuss each piece and how you grew in the following areas: application of materials, techniques and skills, artistic vision, use of the principles and elements, creativity, intuition and subject matter. DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
  3. Reflect on what your portfolio (all work you created through semester) may not reveal about the semester. Do you think the work in your portfolio is an accurate reflection of your development in the class? DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
  4. Choose 2 mini lessons that you felt were the most beneficial in your learning for that particular project. Include photos of these and explain thoroughly. Do you feel you needed more instruction for success? Explain or did you feel that the instruction given was enough to ensure success? Explain. DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
  5. Look over the portfolios of other students in our class. Choose a piece of artwork from one of your classmates that you feel is an exemplary showcase of what the project was to depict. Discuss how the artist used the medium, utilized the elements of art and design principles, was original with their ideas and went beyond their comfort zone or the realm of the requirements. Make sure you have the image of their artwork along with their name (first name only) posted with this response. Also include a link to their portfolio.  DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
  6. What medium was your favorite to work with?  Explain why and how you were able to master the techniques associated with this medium. DON'T FORGET TO ADD PHOTOS
