Assignment: Research the Prehistoric Era and/or Natural and Architectural wonders of the world for subject matter that will create a successful drawing for printmaking.
- Choose 2 topics from categories listed and research facts online. Write down information that is important in sketchbook
- Write at least 2 paragraphs on each chosen subject
- Find at least 4 references for each idea. You should have various images to assist you in creating a complete composition. You will have to incorporate foreground, middle ground and background
- Create 2 different successful drawings for each subject that are 6”x12”. The area we will be carving is exactly 6x12. If your drawings are this size you will not have a problem transferring image to print.
- Each drawing should utilize a great deal of texture and line. Printmaking is all about use of line, texture, space and movement. This is very important to incorporate into your drawing.
- Use knowledge of the Art elements and principles for a unified composition.
